Fircrest Market
Our go-to grocery: deli sandwiches, local wine and weekend supplies.
Sebastopol itinerary · Updated October 2026
Two nights, three days, and the places we send our own friends: breakfast at the Wild Poppy, the redwoods or the coast, and our favorite Green Valley wineries. Pick the options that suit your group. Everything here is within about half an hour of the farmhouse.
Day 1
Sebastopol is about an hour and a quarter north of San Francisco without traffic. Aim to arrive mid-afternoon and keep the first evening easy.

Afternoon
Fircrest Market is the way to go for the weekend: a proper local grocery with a great deli counter, local wine and cheese, and everything for breakfasts at the house. Check-in is from 3:00 pm.
Sunset
Watch the light go down over the trees from the hot tub or the outdoor sectional. It's the best way to shake off the drive.
Dinner
Handline for Baja fish tacos and soft-serve, or Fern Bar for garden-inspired cocktails and small plates. Both are about five minutes away. Or grill at the house with what you picked up at Fircrest.
Day 2
Head west for the day. Both routes start with breakfast on Bodega Highway and a bakery stop in Freestone, then split: towering redwoods or the open coast. Pick one, or do the loop if you're up early.

Breakfast
Our favorite breakfast in West County: a roadside café on Bodega Highway with a creekside patio. Walk-in only, so go early on weekends. They're also opening a second spot at The Barlow.
On the way
Ten minutes on, the wood-fired bakery in tiny Freestone is a fun stop on either route. Get a sticky bun and a loaf for the house, and wander the garden out back.
Option 1
Take Bohemian Highway through Occidental and Monte Rio to Armstrong Redwoods near Guerneville. The flat Pioneer Trail loop through the old-growth grove takes about an hour. Lunch at boon eat + drink in Guerneville.
Option 2
Carry on west to Bodega Bay. Walk Doran Beach or the bluffs at Bodega Head, watch the fishing boats, and drive up Highway 1 to the Jenner Headlands if you want bigger views. Pack a picnic from Fircrest.
Dinner
Back in town, Khom Loi for modern Thai (Michelin Bib Gourmand), or Canneti Roadhouse Italiana in Forestville. Reserve ahead on weekends.
Creekside breakfast and brunch on Bodega Hwy. Walk-in only.
Wood-fired bakery with sticky buns and a garden.
Old-growth redwood trails, about 35 minutes away.
Farm-to-table bistro in Guerneville.
Sandy beach on Bodega Bay, about 30 minutes away.
Coastal hikes with sweeping views.
Modern Thai made with local produce. Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Romantic Italian with outdoor seating.
Day 3
Check-out is at 11:00 am. Pack the car, grab coffee, and spend the afternoon tasting. Two good ways to do it, depending on how far you want to drive.

Morning
Coffee at Retrograde or Taylor Lane at The Barlow, then a wander through the Sebastopol Farmers' Market on the plaza (Sunday mornings, year-round).
Option 1
Furthermore for Pinot Noir, Iron Horse for sparkling wine with sweeping views (reservations required), and Horse & Plow on Highway 116 for wine and cider in the garden. All within about ten minutes of the farmhouse.
Option 2
Drive 35 minutes north for a tasting at Kokomo in the Dry Creek Valley, then spend the afternoon in downtown Healdsburg: shops, tasting rooms and lunch around the plaza. Our winery guide has more.
If you can stay
Rent a bike from Sebastopol Bike Center and ride the flat West County Trail, have pizza and a cider flight at The Barlow, or book a cedar enzyme bath at Osmosis in Freestone.
Pinot-focused tastings near Graton, open daily.
Sparkling wine with sweeping views. Reservations required.
Wine and cider tastings in a garden on Highway 116.
Family-run Dry Creek Valley winery, open daily.
Shops, tasting rooms and restaurants around the town square.
Fresh local produce, Sundays on the plaza.
Staying with us? The Enos Farmhouse is a restored 1900s farmhouse on 3.5 acres beside a vineyard, five minutes from downtown Sebastopol, with 4 bedrooms, a hot tub and room for 8. See the house →
Two nights is enough for town, a few wineries and either the redwoods or the coast. With three or four nights you can add Healdsburg, a spa day and a slower pace.
Late summer and fall bring harvest season and the Gravenstein Apple Fair in August. Spring is green and quiet, with the Apple Blossom Festival in April. Winter is the calmest time for tasting rooms.
Many tasting rooms ask for reservations, especially on weekends. Iron Horse requires them, and Littorai and Preston are by appointment. Book a few days ahead in harvest season.
Downtown, The Barlow and the West County Trail are easy by bike, but wineries, the redwoods and the coast need a car. A guided tour such as Randall's Wine Tours is a good way to taste without driving.
